Monday

This past weekend was alright. Saturday was the fishery. Us girls went into town and “shopped.” We got ice cream and went to a few really lame stores. Everywhere in town is kind of gross. We had a big turkey dinner that night with amazing stuffing! Eddie, Meryl and I took a video of us talking like Darth Vader. It’s really funny! Sunday we all got up, hung out. They left about lunch time. Meryl and I drove home. I cleaned and unpacked because Hannah and Rhonda were coming over for the night. They both got dropped off. Hannah and I had gone to rent movies. We hung out, talked to David on the phone. Rhonda and he got into a fight. He and I were texting, and he wanted to know what Hannah thought of him. He likes her. Ugh! Another creeper. Anyway. We made chocolate cake. And then at like 10:30 Harry and Brad show up. We sat in the kitchen talking with them until like 12:15am! Then we sat in Harry’s car for a bit. It was one of the dirtiest conversations ever! But so funny! We went to bed at like 3am.

Today we woke up at 8! Way too early. We had more cake for breakfast, and we found a candy bouquet at the front door. Rhonda left at like 10:30. I took Hannah home. Came back, cleaned, got ready, then she came back over, and we got gas and went to the mall! Tried on crazy awesome clothes. And then came back here. I had a doctor’s appointment. And I got the meningococcal meningitis shot. And I came back home, finished watching My Best Friend’s Girl – good movie – and I took Hannah home again. Yep, good last 24 hours!

Present day me: This entry makes me remember all the things I’d do with my friends. Go to the mall, have guy friends stop by to chat, surprisingly until late at night. The town I was referring to in this entry is the town nearest to the cabin my family had at the time.

Thursday

Today was a pretty good day at school. We had a potluck lunch! I brought white cheddar pasta roni, Delia brought mac and cheese, Beth brought ramen noodles, we had bread, blueberry muffins, Nutella with rolls, cupcakes and cookies. So good! And we had a Spanish test, which I think I did really good on! Yesterday Bailey and I finally went to Sonic! We got large slushies and large tater tots. She drove and we didn’t go over the curb when we went through the drive thru. Which was a victory! It was her first time going through a drive thru. She did good. Oh! And David has been texting me lately, which is fine. I still want to be friends with him. I gave him Hannah’s number because he asked for it. So, he texted her last night too. I guess he thinks she’s really cute and well who (out of all guys) doesn’t? anyway, I’m glad me and him are friends. I kind of feel like I want to hang out with him again…. maybe. But I don’t know where and when and with who exactly. Who knows… the night before last night Rhonda had a really funny dream about her and Cameron and then me and Nathan. We were in a contest to not touch each other for three hours and we had to stand a foot away from each other and the prize was a night at the  hotel. Nathan and I couldn’t handle not touching each other for three hours so we went away. So, Rhonda and Cameron won. Hannah comes in holding a cat in her arms. Nathan and I come back and told everyone Nathan bought the hotel. Let’s go party there! Hannah said, I want to come! I told her it was couples only. She holds up the cat and said, I have a boyfriend! Meet Ginger! SO FUNNY! Rhonda had another dream that Nelly got pregnant, so she told Rhonda and her first words were, “CAKE AND ICE CREAM!” hahaha yeah. I’ve laughed with Rhonda SO MUCH these past two days. We talked about “pickle” juice today. Pretty great thing to talk about. Haha. G’night!

Present day me: This entry is basically a collection of inside jokes and good memories. This was right before I would get my first job and things changed a lot.

February 8, 2009

Today I made, well decorated this new journal of mine! I like it for now. I’ll probably change it later. So today we came home from the cabin. It was uneventful up there. Eddie and I went on the atvs, I finished reading Breaking Dawn last night. I insanely love the twilight saga! I could read those books over and over again. But anyway, I am in pretty much desperate need of a boyfriend. Like I feel like I’m going crazy without one. I want to have my first kiss, I want to cuddle with someone, flirt with them. Spend a lot of my time with him. But I have no one. Not even close to a guy I could like or go out with. Ugh! And lately I’ve been having dreams about “potatoes” and I feel like I want that. Well, not all the way. Just the stuff that leads up to it. I want a guy I can hold hands with down the hall, who I can make fun of and he’d do the same but it’d be a way of flirting. And those lovey dovey moments when we just give each other compliments and stare into each other’s eyes. See? I know a lot about relationships, and I’ve only been in one! But I don’t know if that could really count as a real relationship. Oh well, I guess I’ll just keep praying. If I could have a guy to like me for me, and maybe be going to Hawaii with the band that’d be so amazing! Haha. Well, I guess I better be going to sleep so I can fantasize and dream about potatoes with that cute guy. *wink wink*

<3 Ava Estelle

Present day me: “Potatoes” is code word for sex. My only relationship at that point was on the phone and through aol instant messenger, so I was ready to have someone I could go out with who lived in the same town as me.

Saturday

This past week was a really long one and lots of things happened. On Wednesday night Hannah called me and I told her all about how many girls who I hang out with don’t like her anymore. They all think she’s a slut. So, I wanted to tell her the reality of the situation. While she’s sitting at lunch with Tommy and Derrick and other nasty guys, everyone at our table is dissing her and calling her names. Anyway, I tried to tell her about it as nicely as possible. What Rhonda had found out – pretty much everyone that we had hung out with at the dance doesn’t like her. So, it wasn’t looking good for Hannah on our end. But when I told Hannah everything she listened and understood. She said she wasn’t/isn’t very close with these girls. She had met them just this school year, which is totally true. And that doesn’t really matter to Hannah what other people think, just as long as she has a good relationship with each, Tabitha, Rhonda and me. Which is good. But while this little stressor was going on for Rhonda and I and Hannah something else happened.

While (one day) Beth and Hannah were working out at the Y together, Beth had asked her how far she’s gone with a guy. Hannah told her some things had happened up at Jared’s cabin between her and Jared. Tabitha and I were the only ones who knew about that. But Beth went up to Jared and asked him about it and he said nothing had happened at all. He lied. Hannah would not make up those things just for attention or the hell of it. She didn’t want to tell Rhonda because she didn’t want to see/know Rhonda’s reaction to it. But Beth talked to me and Tabitha about it during lunch one day with Rhonda right there. My only thought was how the hell did Beth find out about that?! So, Rhonda figured it out and was really disappointed and hurt that Hannah didn’t tell her something that important. And the fact Beth knew before her pissed her off a lot.

So, Rhonda finding all that out changed the way she looked at Hannah. I told Hannah that Rhonda had found out about it and was really hurt and mad. So, Wednesday night I also talked on the phone with Rhonda realized it seemed like Hannah was treating her like a secondary friend not a best friend. There are many explanations. I don’t need to write them all down. But the next morning before school, Hannah and Rhonda talked about it all, I walked with them. It came out to seem like Rhonda didn’t want to be her friend anymore or to just take a break, which I did not want to happen at all. But it wasn’t the best conversation between them. Hannah was all apologizing and Rhonda’s tone wasn’t helping the situation. I didn’t say a word the entire time. Just listened. During band I told Tabitha about everything, and Samantha listened in. Later at lunch Hannah looked really sad, and Rhonda didn’t want to talk to her because she might say something wrong or it might just be a repeat of the conversation that morning. So, I went over to Hannah and I asked her if she’d want to walk. I told her “Rhonda is hurt, and at the moment doesn’t want to talk to you because she can’t look at you the same.” I could tell Hannah was really sad about it. But to just give Rhonda some time to cool down and think it over more. After school that day Rhonda and I were talking, and she asked me what my opinion was of her reaction and Hannah’s actions. I told her I thought she was overreacting a little bit, but I understand how she felt. I understand both sides of them. If I was Rhonda I would have reacted the same way, but not talked to her as harshly as Rhonda had. I had told Hannah that I’ll be her friend no matter what and I would be there for her whenever she needed. Which helped. Thursday night we had pep bad. I gave Tabitha a ride and asked her what her opinion was of the situation. She said she understood both sides but doesn’t want to be involved in it. (Like I was, right in the middle of the two of them) and I think Tabitha was in a good spot. She knew she wasn’t as close with us at the moment because she’s been really busy with basketball. Friday morning Hannah and Rhonda walked and talked without me there. Which was good because they worked everything out and their fight was over. And I was really happy about that, well ecstatic. After school yesterday, Hannah, Tabitha and I went to Starbucks and talked about it some more. We said how much high school drama sucks and how out of hand it gets. Especially with the people who we’re friends with.

New rule – don’t tell Beth anything that you’d want passed around to people, who especially don’t need to know. And know who your true friends are because they can help you get through everything. And that is so amazingly true. So, we came up to the cabin last night and that’s where I am right now. I rearranged my things on my walls in my room and moved my bed. I’m reading Breaking Dawn for the second time and in love with it! I SO want a boyfriend right now!

So, I guess this notebook has come to an end. ☹ too bad. now I have to start another one haha. But I like writing in journals and looking back over it years later and see how much I’ve changed. So, I guess this is good-bye! There is some juicy stuff in this journal that’s for sure! The first half of my sophomore year of high school! Aww! Well, cya!

<3 Ava Estelle

Present day me: this is just the beginning of high school drama between all of the girls….

Sunday 8:47pm

Friday I stayed home from school partly because I have a cold and partly because it’s raining in Ecuador pretty hard. So, I just chilled out at home, read Breaking Dawn. Then Phoebe texted me asking if I’d want to go to the mall to look for another dress because the one she got for me is more of a prom dress.

So we went to Younkers, Deb, Macy’s and Express. I found one at Younkers and she ended up buying it for me because I couldn’t get a hold of my parents. So, I came home and mom was the only one here. I made a pizza for dinner. On Saturday I had band practice at 10 in the morning. Then Samantha and I went to wal-mart after because I had to pick up some nail polish remover. I stopped at Tabitha’s dads to pick up $10 because she didn’t go to the dance and I had bought her a ticket. I came home and got ready, did my nails, make up and mom did my hair. I picked up Rhonda at like 5 and we went over to Ashley’s house to meet Hannah, Gwen, Kayla and Delia. We took pictures, ate food, listened to music and chilled. Hannah and I left around 8 to go to the high school. We got there at the same time as Brandon, Harry, and Garret. I was so excited. We checked our stuff in and started dancing! We danced on a table and I grinded with Brandon like a ton! And I danced with a lot of other people. A lot of our friends didn’t come, but it was still a ton of fun! They played really good music and we were all comfortable with each other. After the dance I went to Perkins with Hannah, Delia, Kayla, Gwen, and Ashley. We all got food. Breakfast and dinner. I was so hyper! It was a perfect thing to do after a dance! We were there until 2am. It was really busy! Hannah stayed over. We both slept in my twin bed. We talked for like an hour and went to sleep. This was an awesome weekend!

Ava Estelle

Present day me: I miss being awake enough to go to perkins that late at night and just have a good time!

Sunday 7:19pm

This past weekend I went to the Kalahari with Hannah! But first let me write down about Friday. We had finals, so school started a half hour later. So, it was Rhonda, Hannah, Kyle and I talking. We talked about nasty stuff. And then Rhonda says she had a mint chocolate condom in her backpack that she’d gotten from Crissy. Funny, huh? Rhonda gave the condom to Kyle. Funny because Hannah and him broke up this past Monday. But it was one of the funniest conversations ever! Brandon came over and I told him Rhonda had given Kyle a condom. Brandon was really surprised. We had finals – world studies, I don’t think I did very good on that one. Then wrote an essay on Of Mice and Men. I think I did really good on that and then we had an hour and fifteen-minute lunch!

Samantha, Ivy, Gwen, Rhonda, Hannah, Tabitha and I went to Taco Bell! I had a chicken taco. It was pretty good. It was freezing outside! So, we got back and I took my geometry final, I think I did really good on that one too. After school Rhonda and I went to Hannah’s house, then the Kalahari!

It was so much fun!! We went swimming and hung out around the hotel. Rhonda, Hannah and I sat on some couches and talked for a little while but then some guys came and sat on the couch next to us, so we went back up. We came back down later, sat at a different couch and then two girls (our age) came up and asked us for drugs. And then Bobby and Greg were with us, and this little kid yelled at him to suck his balls. We got that on video! Haha. Greg is so funny! We ended up staying up until 1, we messed around with the elevators, ate chocolate and ice cream and yeah.

The next morning, we got up and got ready. We went to the theme park. Rode on the Ferris wheel, go karts, merry go round and laser tag. There was a really hot guy in a red shirt that we saw down there. We all were so exhausted by the end we left at about 3pm. And got home later. It was a good time! Today I went to church with mom, and we went to the humane society and asked them if they had any kittens that look like ours, they had one who had gotten frost bite and was at a foster home. But it wasn’t ours. I didn’t know where he could have gone. I’m thinking he’s probably dead from the cold. I miss him. ☹

G’night.

Ava Estelle

Present day me: At this time my family had three cats. The cat that was lost, was the most recent cat. We found him at the cabin the summer before and he never got along with our other cats. We think when we got home from Mexico and let the cats out, which we did regularly, they’d come back. Our little kitty didn’t come back that winter.

Pool/beach day

It was finally sunny out today! I got burned on my right side but not on my left. Ha. Yeah, it sucks. But today was a good day. I worked on a little bit of homework and went swimming. A bunch of us went for a walk down the beach and we found a baby sea turtle on the shore. It was so cute. I took some pictures of it. Eddie and I watched The Biggest Loser on tv, and it was really motivating. We had chicken and mashed potatoes for dinner. After dinner Phoebe and us three took Eddie’s slingshot and shot grapes off of Uncle Leroy and Aunt Margot’s balcony. It was really funny. We shot at the maintenance man and tourists and Eddie went down there and Uncle Leroy threw grapes at him. So that’s about it.

G’night!

<3 Ava Estelle

Present day me: I remember throwing the grapes with the slingshot! It was another good memory with my family. I enjoy reading these entries.

Monday

We all went into town today and ate at the Baja Brewery Co. it was pretty good food. And we went shopping. I got yellow flip flops and a black with white flowers dress that I’m going to wear in Hawaii!!! Yeah. It’s like 4pm and we all just got back. It was still overcast today. And at the moment it’s raining in Ecuador so that’s good. I’m so excited! I hung out with Meredith and Susie most of the day. They’re pretty fun. Meredith kept coming up to me and singing, “sitting on tiki man’s hand” yeah. We took pictures with one of the tiki men last night and took videos of us singing that. I hope the sun comes out tomorrow. I need to tan. Badly. Meryl, Eddie and I got these really good popsicles. I’m guess they were strawberry. And I don’t know what else to write so g’bye.

<3 Ava Estelle

Present day me: the tiki man we were referring to was a statue in an area of the hotel we were staying at. This wasn’t an actual person we interacted with. It’s a fun memory and a cute thing to sing when it’s cousins who only got to see each other once a year, during these family trips.

Saturday

In Cabo San Lucas, Mexico!

Me, Meryl, Eddie, Mom, Phoebe and dad woke up this morning at 3:15 to get on our flight to here at 6:30. Well we flew from Minneapolis to Denver then to here. We arrived at 12:30pm. We got a taxi ride to the hotel and met everyone else. It was a pretty good first day of vacation. The hotel is the nicest we’ve ever stayed at. The room’s balcony (which I’m sitting in right now) is massive. We could fit like 20 people on here. It even has a jacuzzi! The rooms are way nice too. Both bathrooms have tubs as well as shower stalls. As soon as we got to the hotel we unpacked and went out to the pool to meet everyone.

Eddie, Meryl and I walked on the beach. We can’t go swimming because there are bad rip tides. So, we all got food and hung out at the pool. Then everyone except the grandkids went grocery shopping so we hung out with Meredith and Susie. Meredith and I ran around the whole hotel. They came back, we ate and then all us girls went down to the firepits and took some pictures. Aunt Margot showed us the dark room and I took a video of it. It’s pretty awesome. So that’s it for now. Oh, and it’s raining in Ecuador until Monday. But oh well. At least it didn’t start on Monday. So, I’ve been up for like seventeen hours.

I only got three hours of sleep last night because I went to Ashley’s sledding party. Which was really fun! A great thing to do the night before I leave. So yeah. I guess if you don’t want something, no I mean if you think something is going to go badly and you’re not excited about it, then it will actually not be that bad. So, I’m thinking this could potentially be the best vacation yet!

G’night!

<3 Ava Estelle

Present day me: This might’ve been a vacation I wasn’t excited for because I was so involved with my friends and spending time with them.

New year! 😊

Last night I went to Grace’s party at her house. It was a lot of fun. I gave Tabitha a ride. We played ping pong, air hockey, guitar hero and just hung out. As soon as it was midnight, (we all had our cups of sparkling cider in hand) Grace shot her hand up and hit my glass and it spilled all over. Great start to 2009. And like five minutes later someone, I think Craig, spilled his drink next to me. Yeah. I gave Tabitha a ride home and stayed at her house because mom, dad, Eddie, and Meryl went down to the Phillips for new year’s. We stayed up til 3 watching the Hannah Montana movie. Yep, and today I just lounged around. Mexico is the day after tomorrow!

<3 Ava Estelle 😊

Present day me: I love this memory!
