Wednesday

Today was a pretty good day. I didn’t have to work! So I had a free day. (work is going pretty good, btw). So I went out to eat with Delia and Grace at Texas Roadhouse. It was pretty good. We talked about people and the guys and stuff. After we ate we stood outside for a little while and talked, and then Grace had to go home and clean so Delia and I decided to drive around, we got gas and then drove up by Rhonda’s house and ended up stopping at Brandon’s and talked to him for a while. So yeah. It was a good day. And I think hopefully Brandon and I will finally get to that shopping trip on Saturday. If mom and dad let me go. Of course. so yeah that’s about it for now.

Present day me: I miss having so many friends to do things with and make memories with.

Recap of my amazing vacation to Hawaii!

So, I had probably the best vacation ever this past week! When we were in the San Francisco airport for four hours I sat with a bunch of girls and we colored pictures for each other. And me, Rhonda and Hannah walked up and down the area and talked, we opened starbursts with our tongues and discussed the whole Beth and Nate situation because Beth ignored Nate for almost the whole trip, because she wanted this trip to be with friends not her boyfriend. Which is sad for him because he doesn’t like that idea at all so he started a notebook with Hannah and all they talk about is Beth. Anyway, the first night was sort of weird. We got there and had to go down to the lobby twice to reactivate our room keys. And it turns out that something in the door wasn’t activated so we finally got in and started unpacking. Then we went out to eat at subway and when Brandon saw us all the guys came and ate with us which was cool. We girls walked back by ourselves and finished unpacking and stayed up for a while talking about stuff including me and Brandon. 😊 I spent a lot of time with him on this trip, if he wasn’t such a player or flirt with so many girls I’m pretty sure him and I would be going out.

But anyway, the first full day there was good! We had the half day tour of Oahu and we stopped at various places to take pictures. Brandon and the guys were on a different bus than us, so we only got together at one of the stops during that. After that we had a free afternoon, so we went to the beach! Rhonda, Tabitha and I went straight into the water! We rode the waves and just enjoyed it. I was so happy to be swimming with friends in the ocean! Everyone else came over after they went out to eat. Rhonda, Tabitha, Brandon and I went back out into the waves. I tried to stay by Brandon, I think he liked my swimsuit. 😊 and like I wrote before, he carried me! Hehe. But he could have just been being nice… there were a lot of instances that week that steer toward he might like me. I found out him and I were in the same group for the scavenger hunt that night. Rhonda found out and she said, “It’s fate!” hehe. So that got me kind of excited for that night. Turns out though that I was completely exhausted during that so the scavenger hunt wasn’t that fun but hanging out with Brandon and Abby was.

The next day was the Polynesian Cultural Center. It was a long day. But fun. I pretty much explained all about today in the last pages, moving into the night of Tuesday (after we performed). We were all really hyper, so we went out shopping. Originally started all of us but we decided to have the girls and guys split up which was slightly awkward. I think Delia was jealous because the guys were hanging out with us more than her and Bridget. It’s not something we can control, Brandon just ends up tagging along with us when we leave the group. Honestly, I’m glad about that, but he can do whatever he likes. But while we went shopping that night I got pearls, a shell necklace and I think I was running a fever because I was insanely hot and I felt so tired, so we ended up going back and we went to bed. The next day (Wednesday) was snorkeling and the hike up to Diamondhead and that last night while we went shopping was probably the most fun I had with Brandon, him and I walked together and we kept bumping arms and flirting and the whole time Rhonda, Tabitha and Hannah were smiling at us. Maybe he is incredibly oblivious to my feelings for him…? Obviously Delia and Bridget aren’t, I just hope they don’t tell anyone because I don’t’ want people finding out and talking to me about it…. So, that’s pretty much my vacation. I wish I was still there.

Present day me: I love revisiting these journal entries about my band trip to Hawaii! It was an amazing trip and I made really great memories with my friends. It was also awesome to have a sort of flirtation-ship with Brandon during that week.

Saturday at the cabin.

DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA! I hate it. Wow. Something really complicated that I’ve gone over a million times in my head. I have to write it down because there is so much to this drama and so many possibilities and outcomes. So, Hannah and Kyle got back together, which nobody is happy about. But she obviously doesn’t care, because this is what she has wanted ever since they broke up. When they did break up, she was devastated, and that first weekend Rhonda, Hannah and I went to the Kalahari to celebrate Hannah’s 16th birthday. Us three talked a lot about Kyle and how him and her weren’t that great of a couple. We said that she wanted that relationship with him more than he did. So, we came to a conclusion that they were better off apart. Well, I thought we did. We also talked about sex, and she said that she wanted to have sex with him, well she had thought about it. But we said she can do better than that. All Kyle cares about is “getting some” and she wants a real relationship, along with “getting some.” So ever since then she’s still liked him and been trying desperately to get him back. And it just turned out that because she was trying so hard for that she put her flirting all the way to the top, that ditzy personality and she turns everything into sexual innuendo, and I mean EVERYTHING. Which can get slightly annoying after a while.

So, Rhonda and I have realized all this and aren’t happy with Kyle and Hannah going out again. We know what kind of guy she wants – someone who worships her and wears the pants in the relationship and treats her right. Kyle doesn’t do any of that. He doesn’t wear the pants; she puts more effort into it than him. These two have nothing in common, except their both dirty minded. That’s all they talk about. Anyway, through all this and her becoming desperate to have him back and getting back together the girls of our group have been thinking of a plan to break them up. Find another guy for her and another girl for him. Just got to find those two. But Rhonda and I (her two closest friends) have lost our respect for her, she sank down to the lowest to get him back when she knows he’s not worth it, but she is still attracted to him.

And Rhonda and I think she’s been taking us for granted because she thinks we’ll always be friends, but she drops us anytime, anywhere for Kyle. It’s gross. She’s done it in mid-sentence to Rhonda! Umm, I’ll write more later. Beth is texting me saying Rhonda and I have been ignoring her and she understands Hannah’s side of this. Yeah. I need to talk to Rhonda.

Present day me: reliving this entry isn’t very much fun. I find it somewhat nauseating I was that involved with another person’s relationship but we were teenagers and we were trying to protect our friend in a way.

Sunday 9:05pm

This past weekend was an alright one. Friday night was Andrea’s sweet 16 birthday party. It was a lot of fun! We tried to watch Batman Begins but everyone was talking too much. There were a lot of people there. I got a good number of pictures. I was texting with David the whole time as well. There were some dirty texts. Rhonda sent some. I told him I had some to drink, and he asked me if I would “lose it to him” I said “maybe” he’s like “Maybe?” it was weird. I found out he had been drinking a little bit. So yeah. I told like everyone about David. (All the guys) because David called me, and Brandon talked to him for a bit. Anyway, it was a good raunchy party. I had a lot of fun! Last night I talked to David on the phone a bit from like 11-12. I was almost asleep, and he called me, but he had been at a bar with his dad before, so he was a little out of it. Yeah. That’s about it.

<3 Ava

Present day me: I didn’t actually drink at this sweet 16 birthday party. I just told David that to be suggestive. This was a really fun party with everyone getting along and just being silly. Andrea had a house where the basement had a tv and sitting space, as well as a little kitchen and backyard out the side door. It was perfect for us teens to just hang out.

Wednesday

Soooo going from creepy stalker guy to awesome, sweet guy.

I just got off the phone with David 😊 I had talked to him on aim last night, got his number and was texting him last night and today. We talked about like everything. We did like 20 questions, each of us took turns asking questions. I found out some things that I might have not needed to know….but he has promised to come to my town to hang out with me. He told me we have to cuddle and kiss…yeah. Not sure if I’d want to do that? Anyway, he called me and he said, “Hey sexy.” Yeah, sooo anywho. Not much else to report. I can write more later.

G’night! <3 Ava Estelle

Present day me: I remember feeling so cool to have all this attention from different guys at that age. David was a comfort to me, because we had dated online a few years earlier. So connecting with him at this age made it more real and I wasn’t sure if I was ready to actually take those next steps if he did come visit me in my town.

Sunday 9:43pm

So today dad woke me up by kicking at my leg at 7:30 in the morning. We had to go over to Uncle Charlie and Aunt Ivy’s house for the after-the-golf-outing-breakfast. We talked about the outing and how everything went and then drove home.

Thursday, July 24, 2008

Woke up at Uncle Charlie and Aunt Ivy’s house. Mom, Aunt Ivy and Meryl and I went to the new Cabela’s store. Mom wanted to buy some chocolate covered espresso beans. We went out for lunch at cousins subs. Then went back to their house. Dad, Uncle Charlie and I played a few games of cribbage. Then we left to go to the Phillips’. I got to drive Aunt Ivy over there, because the kids and moms were going to the fair. So, we get there and Meryl and I just walk around the fair and people watch. We don’t know anyone there. So, I text Topanga and tell her we’re at the fair and she should come and hang out with us. So, she shows up and I walk around the park with her and she tells me pretty much all about her life. We probably walked a total of three miles. Then we met up with mom and everyone and went on some rides. That was really fun! We went on a giant swing and then a ride like the screaming eagle at MOA. Then the tilt o whirl. It was really cool to hang out with Topanga again. We walk over by the stage and listen to the band play a few songs then walk around some more and leave. When we were in the van on the way home, I let Meryl listen to a voicemail I got the night before, it sounded like Gayle left it. But it was a private number. Linda asked me what we were listening to, and I told her someone had prank called me last night and I couldn’t understand what they were saying. I looked at Gayle as I said that and she was smiling really big, so I’m pretty sure it was her. So, we get back to the Phillips’ and have some food. We talked for a little while and then went to bed. Meryl and I slept on the floor in Linda’s room. Neither Gayle or Linda slept in the same room as us.

Friday July 25, 2008

Pretty much watched movies all day. After the parents went to the fair to see COLLECTIVE SOUL! Gayle asked us three girls if we’d want to bike into town to go to the coffee corner. Another girl from the neighborhood came with too. So, we bike into town and on the way in Gayle and this girl bike over to Bailey’s house to have her come too. So, me, Linda, and Meryl just go straight to the coffee place. They show up and all order smoothies. And Meryl and I didn’t order anything. I wanted to bike over to our old neighborhood where we used to live. So, the three of us went and biked over the hill to the park and hung out there for a while. Then biked to a gas station to get some band aids because Meryl cut her foot while we were there. Dad called me and let me listen to SHINE by Collective Soul. It was really awesome. It was wavy and tinny sounding. But still cool to listen to them live. So, we bike back to their house and want to go swimming. So, we all get our suits on except Gayle. And we’re standing in the kitchen, Gayle tells us her grandma said we can’t go swimming because we’ll get overheated or a leg cramp. What kind of bullshit is that? Just Gayle being in control. So, we change into our pjs and decide to run around outside. But Gayle escapes to the neighbor girl’s house right after she said we’ll all play night games. We go over there and try to get them to come out, but they come back to Gayle’s house and sit inside, so us kids are like, messing with them through the window.

Well, we just end up watching Fool’s Gold. The neighbor girl never said one word while I was around her. And every time I looked at her she looked like she was about to cry. So, we watch the movie and go to bed. Linda ended up sleeping in her room with us so that was good.

Golf Outing Day!

Got up at 6am, way too early for me! I almost fell asleep while I was taking a shower. Got ready and dad took us three kids to burger king for breakfast. We got to the golf course and basically Meryl and I hung out together and took some pictures. My camera broke again so we had to use Meryl’s which only held about 15 photos. So, after everyone golfed and ate dinner/lunch and did the raffle prizes. I won a free 18 hole for 4 players certificate and traded for a bag ball game. After the raffle prizes were done dad drove us three back to the Phillips. Linda and their grandma were the only one’s there. So, I pretty much watched tv for the rest of the night, I was so tired. At about 11 I decided to go to bed, so I laid down and took my phone out to check for any new stuff. And there was a new voicemail from a private number. They said their name was Michael and they saw my myspace picture and thought we should go out. He gave me his number, so I texted it. Found out that he’s the guy Gayle likes – and I’m pretty sure she set him up to it. Even though when she got home, she told me she didn’t do it. But whatever. If I get another “private” call again I’m calling the police or I’m going to make Tabitha send her a mean text message. G’night!

Present day me: This was definitely a buried memory until I read this entry again. Wow. Getting creepy voicemails from a private number was how people pranked each other back then! Also, it was really cool to read about hanging out with Topanga. My family lived in this town where Gayle and Linda live. We moved a few hours away and would come back and visit a few times a year. Topanga was one of my first friends of my life.
